The publication ethics and malpractice statements of the International Scientific Journal Monte (ISJM) are based on COPE’s Core Practices, the practices of which apply to all of the parties involved in the publication process of the academic journal: journal editors, peer reviewers, and publisher. ISJM is committed to the enhancement and promotion of the highest quality journals within academia and the community and in this regard, it stands for ensuring the attainment of the highest standards of publication ethics, integrity, and authenticity, whereas publication malpractice is strictly prohibited by all possible measures.
For Editors
The editor’s main role in evaluating academic journals is to provide an objective, non-discriminatory, respectful, and unbiased evaluation of academic journals starting from the beginning until the completion of the journal evaluation process. The evaluation of the journals should be based on the academic content, credibility, authenticity, and value that it adds to academia and wider. The Editors of International Scientific Journal Monte (ISJM) must carry the evaluation process out in alignment with the abovementioned principles of objectivity, non-discrimination, and unbias, regardless of their own political, personal, religious, and/or, moral/ethical beliefs. The information of the journal undergoing evaluation should be kept confidential by the editor/s assigned to the evaluation of the journal. Any form of journal criticism or rejection that is based upon personal feelings and other unprofessional conduct of the editor towards one or more authors is prohibited by all means. Constructive criticism and positive feedback that would ensure and further contribute to the development and revision of the journal under evaluation is allowed and encouraged.
For Reviewers
The main duty of the Reviewers is to determine that the journals that have undergone evaluation from Editors are reviewed in an objective, non-discriminatory, respectful, and unbiased way. If during the review process, there is a conflict of interest, it should be communicated in due time to the editor in charge of the journal evaluation. The conflict of interest should be clearly stated and its implications on the journal evaluation clearly formulated for the editor to take under consideration for future evaluation. If for some reason the journal does not fulfill the requirements necessary for publication, the reviewers should clearly state the factor contributing to that decision to the editor/s, so that adequate changes can be made in order to ensure the publication of the article in the future. The information that is related to the journal, is to be kept confidential by reviewers.
For Authors
The Ethics Statements must be declared by authors using human subjects in their research journal. This is needed to ensure ethical conduct in research in which human subjects have been a part of. In addition to that, the authors need to provide the following necessary documents stating that there is no conflict of interest (if any) as well as informed consent from all of the individuals involved in the study (if needed).
Authors must adhere to community standards in regards to their topic of research.
All authors that wish to publish their academic journals in International Scientific Journal Monte (ISJM), must ensure that the submitted journal/s for evaluation is/are the original work/s of the author/s. It is the authors’ duty to submit for evaluation only academic journal/s that have not been previously published in any other journals database/s. Only original and unpublished works will be sent for evaluation and thus publication through ISJM. If there is/are conflict/s of interest while deciding to submit the journal for evaluation, it is the author’s duty to clearly state the conflict/s, so that they can be addressed properly at the initial stage of the publishing process. In addition to that, the journal that is submitted for evaluation should be crafted in alignment with ISJM’s technical requirements. Outside sources utilized for the journal should be properly accredited to the source. Any inability to do so will result in a penalty by immediate journal rejection. If upon submission of the journal for evaluation the authors discover errors in the journal, the author needs to clearly state the concerns to the editor assigned for the journal evaluation in due time.

Human Subjects in Research, Ethics Committee Approval and Informed Consent
ISJM takes as principle to comply with the ethical standards of World Medical Association (WMA) Declaration of Helsinki – Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects.
An approval of research protocols by the Ethics Committee (Institutional Review Board) in accordance with international standards mentioned above is required for experimental, clinical, and drug studies and for some case reports. If required, ethics committee reports or an equivalent official document will be requested from the authors. For manuscripts concerning experimental research on humans, a statement should be included that shows that written informed consent of patients and volunteers was obtained following a detailed explanation of the procedures that they may undergo. For studies carried out on animals, the measures taken to prevent pain and suffering of the animals should be stated clearly. Information on patient consent, the name of the ethics committee, and the ethics committee approval number should also be stated in the Methodology section of the manuscript. It is the authors’ responsibility to carefully protect the patients’ anonymity. For photographs that may reveal the identity of the patients, signed releases of the patient or of their legal representative should be enclosed.
